Clait Advanced
The Clait
Advanced is ITeC's software-based Technical Certificate, which is
studied alongside our NVQ Level 3 IT Users qualification by those
learners aiming for software-related careers.
Clait
Advanced candidates are required to attend the ITeC on a day-release
basis on a fortnightly schedule, to receive unit tuition and
complete their unit assessments.
The Clait
Advanced consists of three units, one of which is mandatory. The
other two units are optional, and can be chosen from a list of six
offered by OCR. All three units are completed by working through a
detailed, realistic, and work-relevant scenario, which is designed
with input from the tutor, employer, and candidate and which is
targeted at the candidates needs, requirements, and interests. Each
scenario is therefore individually-tailored and unique.

OVERVIEW
The OCR
Level 3 Certificate for IT Users (CLAIT Advanced) is a qualification
designed to reflect the knowledge and skills of those who use
advanced IT skills to process information and to support others in
all areas of the working environment. The qualification recognises
complex and specialist skills in the use of IT in vocational
contexts. CLAIT Advanced has been developed with partners in
industry, further education and schools.
CLAIT Advanced has been developed from and replaces, IBT III,
Desktop Publishing III and Cambridge Information Technology (Diploma
modules). It has been developed as a progression route from New
CLAIT and CLAIT Plus. CLAIT Advanced aims to reflect and build on
the strengths of the qualifications it is replacing, incorporating
revised content, which takes account of recent software
developments, and providing greater flexibility, ease-of-use and
relevance.
CLAIT Advanced has been designed to accredit a broad range of IT
skills, ensuring that regardless of the optional units chosen, the
learner will be prepared for the needs of the IT-based workplace in
a comprehensive manner.
