Inspection Results
The Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) is the inspectorate for skills, workforce development and preparation for employment.
The ALI works with employers and training providers and they are a key part of the government’s drive to increase skills and productivity and help adults and young people reach their full potential.
In November 2006 our training provision was inspected by the ALI who found the overall effectiveness of HCCT to be good. The report stated that leadership and management are good as are our arrangements for quality improvement. Equality of opportunity is outstanding. Provision is good in Engineering and Sign making, in ICT – Practitioner and User, Administration, and in preparation for life and working (includes Catering & Hospitality).
The inspection lasted for 4 days and involved 8 ALI inspectors, 73 learner interviews, 68 staff interviews, 21 employer interviews and 26 visits to different employers and training sites. All the different areas of our provision were graded 2 with the exception of Equality and Diversity which was awarded a grade 1. The inspectors use a four point scale to summarise their judgements about the quality of provision: Grade 4 – inadequate, Grade 3 – satisfactory, Grade 2 – good, Grade 1 – outstanding.
We would like to say a massive thanks to all learners and employers who took part in the inspection process as it was a very rigorous procedure.
