Work placement information
for employers
Each learner attends a solid foundation period during which they
gain valuable knowledge and understanding of their chosen
vocation area before being introduced into the real working
environment. Work based learning is the perfect way for a young
person to gain a National Vocational Qualification.
Qualifications, at various levels, are achieved by the young
person proving they can perform a range of tasks relevant to
their chosen vocational area. Work based learning is also
rewarding for the Employer who is able to mould young people
with potential into valuable employees.
Learners are available for placements from a range of
occupational areas:
Frequently Asked questions:
1. What is a placement?
A placement is an opportunity for a young person to be
introduced to a working environment and for an organisation to
reap the benefits of an enthusiastic potential employee.
2. How long does a placement last?
This can vary depending on individual circumstances such as the
course length and the needs of the provider.
3. How does the learner achieve their qualification?
The qualification is achieved by gathering naturally occurring
evidence in the work place. The learners are continually
developed during mutually agreed work-shop days at the ITeC.
4. How often will I see a member of ITeC staff?
A member of staff will carry out an initial pre-vet to ensure
the learners safety and provider suitability. Once a learner has
been placed with you an assigned tutor will regularly visit the
young person in order to monitor their progress and observe them
in the work place.
